Planning Commission

All members of the Planning Commission are appointed by the Board of Supervisors.

MEETINGS

Planning Commission meetings are held monthly on an as-necessary basis. Meetings are held when there are Variance or Land Use applications pending with Cass County or when there are items before the Board of Supervisors that require an opinion from the Planning Commission, such as updates to the Comprehensive Plan.

DUTIES

The Planning Commission functions in an advisory capacity to the Board of Supervisors. The Commission is charged with reviewing variance requests, development and land use proposals, and re-evaluating the Comprehensive Plan.
The Commission then makes recommendations to the Board of Supervisors based on their findings. These findings are then forwarded to the Cass County Environmental Services Dept. and the County Board of Adjustment to aid in their decision making.
